Meet Studio À Part

Based in San Diego and working worldwide, Studio À Part is a multidisciplinary practice for those who value taste over trends. We design brands, objects, and event details meant to be felt and remembered.

Our work is a balance of restraint and experimentation: building worlds that feel strategic without ever feeling predictable, with the kind of details people notice twice.

Led by Betty Ko, the studio is currently a one-woman practice. I am the creative director, the designer, producer, and professional over-thinker (in the best way). After 14 years of agency-bred rigor and award-winning design & Art Direction, I founded UME DESIGN STUDIO to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and personal connection. As my work became more focused and the practice matured, the studio evolved into Studio À Part—a name that reflects a high-touch, intentional approach that stands "apart" from the expected.

Studio À Part is for the outliers—the clients, agencies, and couples who value taste, depth, and a creative partner willing to push past the status quo. Whether building a brand from the ground up or designing the ephemeral details of a milestone event, the goal is always to create something that feels deeply personal and memorable.
